“If I could’ve driven one car home from F.A.T., it would’ve been the 1998 Le Mans winning
Porsche GT1, and not because it was the easy/obvious answer. I’d want to drive that car on the
street, drive it on the track, drive it to the morning cars/coffee, drive it to my cousin’s house for
dinner, put a second seat in it and take my sister to school/pick her up, and be the one guy in
the whole world with the highest mileage GT1. (Even if it’s not street legal, haha) I would want to
put some serious miles on that car just because, why not. Wouldn’t preserve it and keep it in a
museum, I’d drive the wheels off it!”

“I am sure it’s a common answer, but the GT1 has to be my choice. The history of its Le Mans
success, the iconic livery, and the sheer beauty and performance of the car is hard to beat!”

“If I had my choice, I would have driven the Porsche GT1; the second would be the Ingram 959,
and the third would be the Mercedes 300 Gullwing. Not that I had already daydreamed about
this.”

“The F.A.T. Ice Race is one of those events where you end up walking blithely past cars that you
would normally drool over for hours, simply because there is something even more exceptional
parked a few spaces further up the paddock. All of which makes choosing just one car a sort of
pleasurable headache. So, the car that I've picked combines a few aspects of the overall grid. It's
a Porsche, which seems appropriate. It has a suspension setup that is very much rally in its
ethos, reflecting one of the cars I enjoyed driving most - the NISMO East African Safari Z (I so
hope they put that kit into production). My choice also has a huge number of spot lamps - not
quite as many as the wonderful Ford Escort WRC car, but getting there.
In a slight curve ball, I'd like to repaint the car I'm picking with my favourite livery of the event:
Jeff Zwart's Roy Lichtenstein-inspired 997. I do love a Ben Day dot, and the bold bright colours
fitted so perfectly with the primary-coloured aesthetics of the F.A.T. world.
And the car it would be applied to? Leh Keen's Safari 911. One of the fastest cars at the event,
and one that I was lucky enough to have a passenger ride in with the man himself. As someone
that has watched the onboard footage of his rain dance at the Nürburgring countless times over
the past ten years, you'll appreciate what a privilege that was. Fast but fun, with a flat-six
soundtrack. Perfect for some Scandi flicks and chill in Colorado ... or my daily commute in
Buckinghamshire.”

"If I could have driven one of the Ice Race cars home, while it would have been a tough decision,
I think I would have lost the fight to the kid inside me, and I would have grabbed the keys for the
Hot Wheels Mobil 1 Porsche 914 Safari. With extra lights, extra speakers, and plenty of extra
suspension travel, it looked like an absolute blast to drive, and I can only imagine that a road trip
home to Toronto would be a truly great experience."

“This is a pretty easy answer for me. It would be the Audi Quattro Sport S1 that Michele
Mouton drove to win Pike's Peak in 1985. The Group B era is one of my favorite periods of all
motorsports, and seeing the S1 that Mouton drove to victory was very special for me. Her
philosophy about competing, and specifically, racing against the clock, has had a significant
influence on me. The pressure for an all-out win for Audi was obvious, and she delivered the
goods with a remarkable time of 11:25.39 in the dirt. A remarkable performance
and testament of her ability to perform with grace while under fire. For me, this would be the
car and story to drive home in.”

“I would drive the Toyota Supra with the Judd V-10. The body was fully customized with carbon
fiber, and the sound of the engine was incredible!”
